2006 Epiphany – Santa Barbara County
Grenache
Retail: $30.00 Wine Club $25.50
Tasting Notes:
Grenache seems to be one of those grape varietals that people feel strongly about, as in, they either embrace it or reject it. Around here we embrace it wholeheartedly and hope that you will too.
It is a lighter red with distinctive flavors of plum, licorice and sandalwood. Spice is a prevailing element of Grenache which makes it a superbly food friendly and versatile wine.
D’Arenberg Winery in the McClaren-Vale region of Australia produces a wine made by Chester Osborne called “The Custodian.” It was the inspiration for us making a stand alone Grenache.
We love its diversity of flavors and are happy to be at the forefront of making a name for this interesting varietal.
